Dhaka, Dec 11 (V7N) – A student of Tejgaon College has died following a violent clash between two factions of the Chhatra Dal over drug use and control inside the college dormitory. The deceased was identified as Sakibul Hasan Rana, a higher secondary student of the institution.

According to family sources and campus students, the two groups had been involved in disputes over alleged drug consumption and dominance within the hostel premises. The confrontation escalated earlier this week, leaving Sakib critically injured.

Sakib succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the Malibagh area of the capital. Police said an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the clash, identify those involved, and examine whether the dispute stemmed from drug-related activities inside the dormitory.

Law enforcement officials have visited the hostel, collected statements from students, and are reviewing CCTV footage as part of the inquiry. Further legal action will be taken once the investigation concludes.

Family members and classmates have demanded a fair investigation and strict action against those responsible for the death of the student.
