Dhaka, Oct 09 (V7N) — Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir , Secretary General of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) , expressed the party’s support for the eight-point demands put forth by the Hindu community. Speaking after visiting the Durga Puja Mandap at Dhakeshwari Temple on Wednesday morning, he acknowledged the concerns of the traditionalists and confirmed that BNP is considering their demands seriously.

During his visit, Mirza Fakhrul emphasized BNP's commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all religious communities, denouncing the communal propaganda allegedly spread by a specific political party. "A particular political party has been involved in spreading false information and communal propaganda against BNP, falsely accusing us of Hindu persecution," Fakhrul said.

He assured that BNP has ensured the safety of the Durga Puja celebrations, with leaders from across the country working to secure the puja mandaps . Fakhrul also highlighted that on August 5 , the "power of evil forces" was defeated, symbolizing a step towards creating a more harmonious society where religious conflicts are diminished.

"If BNP comes to power in the future, every incident of violence or persecution against the Hindu community will be investigated impartially, and we will ensure fair trials for the perpetrators," he stated. Mirza Fakhrul also confirmed that the BNP is committed to addressing the eight-point demands of the Hindu community in a positive manner.

Fakhrul further criticized certain foreign media outlets for propagating negative narratives against Bangladesh's communal harmony, labeling their claims as false. "While some unfortunate incidents have occurred due to political reasons, they have not damaged the overall communal harmony of the country," he stressed.

The BNP leader concluded by urging everyone to work together in building a "new Bangladesh" where religious harmony is preserved, and "demonic forces" are defeated.
