Chittagong, Jan 01 (V7N) — BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has emphasised the need to end the partyisation of business institutions in Bangladesh, citing directives from Tarique Rahman. Speaking at a meeting with C&F traders organised by the 'Chittagong Deprived Traders Forum' at his residence in Chittagong on Wednesday morning, Khasru stated that partisan practices have led the country's business and commerce to the brink of collapse.

"The Awami League's allies have destroyed the integrity of the country's business sector through corruption and partisanship," he said. "To strengthen the economy, we need honest leadership in business organisations."

Khasru also highlighted the public's desire for accountability and transparency, which he believes has grown following Sheikh Hasina's departure. "No one can assume leadership without accountability. The future elected government will focus on fulfilling the aspirations of the people and building a self-reliant Bangladesh," he added.

The meeting, chaired by SM Saiful Alam, convener of the Disadvantaged Business Forum, included speeches from former BGMEA president and BNP Chairperson’s advisor SM Fazlul Haque, Chittagong Metropolitan BNP convener Ershad Ullah, and other leaders from the business forum.

The discussion underscored the need for reform and accountability to restore confidence in the business sector and foster economic growth.
