Dhaka, Jan 20 (V7N) — BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, along with Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and members of the standing committee, officially renewed their party memberships as part of a nationwide initiative. The renewal program was inaugurated virtually by Tarique Rahman on Monday.

Under the leadership of the acting chairman, senior leaders, including the secretary general, filled out their membership renewal forms during the event. The price of the membership form has been increased to 20 taka, doubling from the previous fee of 10 taka.

According to party sources, the BNP aims to renew 4.1 million memberships across the country. The initiative seeks to reinforce the party’s organisational strength and engage its vast supporter base.

During the program, Tarique Rahman addressed attendees virtually, expressing optimism about the party's resilience and unity. "Today is a very happy day for us," he said. "Despite indescribable torture, disappearances, and oppression by the Awami League government, millions of our leaders and activists remain steadfast with BNP. This membership renewal is a step towards uniting these people once again."

The renewal campaign reflects the BNP's efforts to revitalise its political presence amid ongoing challenges. The event saw enthusiastic participation from leaders and supporters alike, setting the tone for the party's organisational goals in the coming months.
