Dhaka, Feb 21 (V7N) – BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has stated that delaying the national elections in the name of reforms would be a mistake, emphasizing that real democracy will return only through elections. He urged the authorities to hold elections as soon as possible.

Rizvi made these remarks on Friday (February 21) after paying tribute to the martyrs of the Language Movement at the Central Shaheed Minar on International Mother Language Day.

Earlier in the day, BNP leaders and activists visited the Azimpur graveyard to honor the language martyrs. Following this, they joined the morning procession (Prabhat Feri) from Palashi intersection to the Central Shaheed Minar.

In a large gathering, thousands of BNP leaders and activists, alongside central party figures, paid tribute at the Shaheed Minar, marking their commitment to democracy and national unity.
