Dhaka, Feb 24 (V7N) – BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has stated that political rivalry between the Nationalist Chhatra Dal (JCD) and Islami Chhatra Shibir is not desirable in any way.

He made this remark while addressing a human chain organized by the Bangladesh Nationalist Rickshaw, Van, and Auto Drivers' Party in Paltan on Monday.

Rivalry and Political Allegations

Rizvi responded to claims by some Chhatra Shibir members who alleged that the JCD is acting like the banned Chhatra League. He countered by saying:

"People also know that many of the current leaders of Chhatra Shibir were once office bearers of Chhatra League. The nation is aware of the political history of all parties. Therefore, it is time to restore fair politics."

Criticism of Government and Economic Hardship

The BNP leader criticized the government, stating that it has failed to address the needs of the people, particularly daily wage earners struggling with high prices.

"Even though Sheikh Hasina has left, the daily wage earners are still suffering. The government must focus on controlling rising prices," he added.

Commitment to Cultural Freedom

Rizvi promised that no cultural activities will be obstructed in the future, emphasizing that:

"All cultural programs in Bangladesh will be celebrated without restrictions. Our culture cannot be suppressed through any planned effort."

BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council member Abdus Salam was also present at the event.
