Chittagong, Feb 28 (V7N) – The funeral prayer of former minister and BNP Vice Chairman Abdullah Al Noman was held at the Jamiatul Falah National Mosque in Chittagong. A large number of party leaders, activists, and people from various walks of life attended the prayer, paying their respects to the late leader.
Starting early in the morning, people from all over the city began gathering at the mosque, many carrying bouquets of flowers and wearing black badges of mourning. Long lines formed as people waited to bid farewell to the popular politician. Some chose to pay their respects from a distance to avoid the crowd.
Before the funeral prayer, Noman's body was brought to the party office of Nasiman Barman on Nur Ahmed Road in Kazir Deuri, where leaders and activists from all walks of life paid their last respects. The body was then moved to Jamiatul Falah Mosque for the third namaz-e-janaza after Jumma prayers.
Among those who participated in the prayer were BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Chittagong City Corporation Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain, Jamaat Metropolitan Amir Shahjahan Chowdhury, BNP North District Convener Golam Akbar Khandaker, Central BNP Leader Mahbuber Rahman Shamim, City BNP Convener Ershad Ullah, and Noman's son Sayed Al Noman, among others.
Following the prayer, a state guard of honor was presented in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam.
Later in the afternoon, Noman's body was taken to his hometown of Gahira village in Raojan, where the final namaz-e-janaza was held after Asr prayers. The brave freedom fighter was laid to rest at his family graveyard.
