Dhaka, June 28 (V7N) — BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said that national elections should be organized within a reasonable timeframe after completing necessary reforms to reflect the aspirations of the majority of the people.
He made the remarks on Saturday afternoon while speaking to journalists following a visit to the China Friendship Conference Center in Dhaka.
Rizvi emphasized that the interim government must focus on addressing the country’s deteriorating economic situation. “We will point out the government’s mistakes and shortcomings, but as long as it remains in power, it must work for the welfare of the people,” he said.
The BNP leader also noted that the recent meeting between Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus and BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has sparked optimism among the people regarding the political future of the country.
Rizvi further stressed the need to eliminate mob culture and to build a nation where citizens no longer fear disappearances or murders.
