Habiganj, August 4 (V7N) – The biennial council of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in Nabiganj Upazila of Habiganj district was held on Sunday at the Banglabazar Jangalia field. The event began with the ceremonial hoisting of the national and party flags, followed by the symbolic release of doves by the guests to mark the inauguration.

The council was presided over by Nabiganj Upazila BNP Convener Sarfaraz Ahmad Chowdhury, with the program conducted by Senior Joint Convener Shihab Ahmad Chowdhury.

Professor Dr. A Z M Zahid Hossain, a member of the BNP’s National Standing Committee, attended the event as the chief guest. In his address, he highlighted the importance of grassroots organization and unity within the party in the face of current national challenges.

The biennial council brought together BNP leaders, activists, and supporters from across the upazila. Speakers emphasized the need to strengthen democratic values, promote justice, and restore voting rights through peaceful political mobilization.

Party officials noted that such grassroots-level conferences are vital for party reorganization and to connect national political strategies with local issues.

The event concluded with pledges from local leaders to enhance the party’s presence and communication in Nabiganj, ahead of future national political developments.
