Dhaka, Oct 14 (V7N) — Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayebe Ameer Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher has alleged that four to five advisors of the interim government are working to serve the interests of a specific political party, claiming they are attempting to turn the public administration into a partisan institution.

He made the remarks on Tuesday (October 14) morning during a human chain program held near Matsya Bhaban, organized to press for five demands, including a referendum to include the proportional representation (PR) system in the July National Charter.

Dr. Taher said, “The voices of these advisors have been recorded. I want to give them a chance to correct themselves. If they fail to do so in time, their names will be made public.” He also warned that “the consequences of betraying the July martyrs will be even worse.”

Accusing some advisors of steering the administration along partisan lines, the Jamaat leader said that a truly neutral election would not be possible under the current circumstances. “An attempt is being made to hold a blueprint election. The people of this country will neither take part in nor accept such an election,” he added.

He further warned that if the five-point demands are not accepted, Jamaat-e-Islami would be compelled to intensify its movement across the country.
