Dhaka, Oct 27 (V7N)- Professor Mujibur Rahman, Naib-e-Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, has said that the introduction of a proportional representation (PR) system in elections could end the “election-centric terrorist culture” in the country.
Speaking on Monday during a 7-day program organized by the party to commemorate the bloody October 28 in Dhaka Metropolitan South, he also remarked that those who fear referendums are, in reality, afraid of the people’s opinion.
Professor Rahman warned that some individuals are boasting about fascist tendencies, but they would eventually face consequences from the Awami League. At the same time, he expressed confidence that if the next election is fair, Islamists from Teknaf to Tentulia could win by a landslide.
He added, “The fascist culture is dancing on corpses. A group did this in 2006, but it has been completely wiped out today.”
