Chittagong, Nov 23 (V7N)- Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has pledged that if the party forms a government in the future, its elected representatives and ministers will not take government plots or tax-free vehicles. He added that if a member cannot afford a car, they would even travel by rickshaw if necessary.

Dr. Shafiqur made the remarks at a conference of election officials from Chittagong division held at the GEC Convention Center on Saturday night (November 22).

He emphasized that Jamaat seeks political reform and warned that the results of an upcoming referendum would reveal who supports rotten politics and who desires change. He also cautioned that anyone attempting to snatch the people’s voting rights, as done in the past, would face serious consequences.

The Jamaat Amir further promised that, if in power, the party would end ongoing injustices across the judicial system, from village courts to the Supreme Court. He also noted that although some individuals filed lawsuits after August 5, no Jamaat leader or activist filed mass cases against anyone.
