Dhaka, Aug 22 (V7N) - BNP has appointed former MP Mosharraf Hossain as the acting general secretary of Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal, replacing Shahidul Islam Babul, whose membership has been suspended.

A press release, signed by BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, on Thursday said, “Krishak Dal’s joint general secretary and former member of parliament Mosharraf Hossain has been put in charge of the central acting general secretary of the organization.

Mosharraf will continue in this role until further notice, it added.
Earlier on Wednesday, the posts of BNP organizing secretary Shama Obaed and Krishak Dal general secretary Shahidul Islam Babul were suspended for violating party discipline.
A BNP leader, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the punitive action against them was taken following a violent clash between supporters of Shama and Babul in Nagarkanda upazila of Faridpur on Wednesday, which left one person killed.
