Dhaka, Aug 31 (V7N): BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called on the public to hand over to the police anyone attempting to extort money in the name of the BNP."The BNP has no connection with extortionists," Fakhrul stated while distributing relief to flood victims in the Choto Sharifpur area of Cumilla's Lalmai Upazila today. He emphasized that recent news reports tarnishing the BNP's image are baseless, and the party has no involvement in such activities.
"There are attempts to undermine the victory achieved through the students' and the people's uprising," he continued. "Today, there is an effort to create division and separate us. Everyone should remain vigilant."
Fakhrul also noted that the interim government is just 20-22 days old and mentioned that discussions have taken place to ensure a fair election environment. He urged patience, suggesting the new government should be given time to address these issues.
