Dhaka, Dec 03 (V7N) – This comes into effect immediately, the mission said in a notice signed by First Secretary Md Al Amin.

The decision comes following the attack on Bangladesh mission in Agartala on Monday.

Seven people were arrested and three police officers were also suspended after a mob stormed the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala, vandalizing the premises and forcibly removing the Bangladeshi national flag.

New Delhi also issued statement expressing regret.

The Bangladesh foreign ministry, however, summoned High Commissioner Pranay Verma on Tuesday and lodged protest.

The foreign ministry earlier in a statement sought thoroughly investigation into the incident as protests grow inside Bangladesh.

The Indian High Commissioner, however, said the wide ranging and multifaceted relationship should not be reduced to one single issue or agenda.

"We really want to build a positive, stable, constructive relationship moving forward. There are so many things we are doing," he said after meeting acting foreign secretary Reaz Hamidullah at the foreign ministry.
