Dhaka, May 24 (V7N) -Adviser to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, today declared his commitment to establishing a precedent of honesty, trustworthiness, and good governance within his ministry.

In a post on his verified Facebook page, Asif Mahmud articulated his determination to set a benchmark of integrity. "We aim to set an example of honesty, responsibility, and good governance that others will be inspired to follow," he wrote.

Underscoring his firm stance against corruption, the Adviser revealed that he personally requested the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to investigate allegations against his former assistant private secretary (APS).

He further stated that his ministry has been instructed to provide full cooperation to the ACC throughout the investigation process.

"No matter whoever he or she might be, will face action for involvement in corruption as per the country's law as the post July Bangladesh is committed in doing so," he asserted, emphasizing the commitment of the "post-July Bangladesh" to combat corruption.

He expressed confidence in the impartiality and professionalism of constitutional institutions, stating that their role is crucial in advancing the vision of a "New Bangladesh."

"Since the very beginning, an attempt has been underway to create a misperception about me for political purposes. But, the truth and moral courage are important to me," he said, addressing potential political motives behind any allegations against him.

The adviser expressed hope that the ACC will conduct the investigation impartially and honestly, leading to the revelation of the truth.
