Dhaka, July 28 (V7N) – Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the foreign medical teams who arrived in Bangladesh to assist in treating victims of the recent plane crash in Uttara, Dhaka.
A delegation of 21 doctors and nurses from Singapore, China, and India met Dr. Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna on Sunday. During the meeting, the Chief Advisor lauded their selfless service, calling their presence a reflection of “our common humanity and the strength of global solidarity.”
“These teams did not only bring their skills but also their hearts,” Dr. Yunus said. “Their tireless efforts alongside our local medical professionals are making a critical difference in trauma care and recovery.”
The Chief Advisor praised the swift diplomatic coordination by the countries concerned, which enabled the teams to arrive promptly and begin lifesaving work.
He also called for long-term collaboration, urging the medical professionals to maintain institutional ties with Bangladesh through future in-person and virtual engagements in medical education, skill development, and public health innovation.
Dr. Yunus emphasized the importance of establishing robust international partnerships to enhance emergency preparedness and strengthen the healthcare system in the long run.
The delegation included 10 medical professionals from Singapore, 8 from China, and 4 from India. Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Yao Wen and the Singaporean Head of Mission were also present during the meeting.
