July 31 (V7N) - Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md. Asaduzzaman has announced that recommendations from the Law Reform Commission will be put into effect in line with the July Charter.
The minister made the remarks while inaugurating a tree plantation drive and a month-long tree fair on the old DC Court premises in Jhenaidah.
He noted that the interim government had already enacted 133 ordinances based on the commission's recommendations. Most of the proposed reforms have been accepted, and a special committee has been formed to address the remaining ones.
When asked about the possible return of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Asaduzzaman said the government would take all necessary legal steps if she comes back. "She will face the court, and the government will act within the law," he stated.
Regarding the Habiganj attack case involving NCP leaders, the minister assured that the investigation would be impartial and that legal action would be taken against those found responsible.
The event was also attended by State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M. Rashiduzzaman Millat, Political Assistant to the Prime Minister Rashed Khan, Jhenaidah Deputy Commissioner Noman Hossain, Zila Parishad Administrator M.A. Majid, and others.
