Dhaka, Dec 22 (V7N) — Inqilab Mancha has announced a protest march demanding the death penalty for those responsible for the killing of its spokesperson, Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi.

The protest march is scheduled to take place on Monday, December 22, starting at 3:00 pm from Shaheed Hadi Chattar in Shahbagh and proceeding to the Shaheed Minar.

The program was officially announced on Sunday, December 21, through Inqilab Mancha’s verified Facebook page.

Osman Hadi had been campaigning as an independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 parliamentary constituency at the time of the attack.

On December 12 at around noon, unidentified assailants shot Osman Hadi in the head while he was riding a motorcycle on Box Culvert Road in Purana Paltan. He was initially taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and later transferred to Evercare Hospital for advanced treatment.

As his condition deteriorated, he was airlifted to Singapore on December 15 by air ambulance for further medical care. Despite treatment, Osman Hadi succumbed to his injuries on December 18 while undergoing treatment there.

Following the shooting, Inqilab Mancha Member Secretary Abdullah Al Jaber filed an attempted murder case at Paltan Police Station on December 14. After Osman Hadi’s death, the case was converted into a murder case.
