Dhaka, Feb 19 (V7N) — Newly appointed ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon, Education Minister of Bangladesh, has warned that corruption in the education sector will not be tolerated. Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat on Thursday morning, he said investigations will be launched into alleged malpractices under the previous government, including irregularities in the establishment of laboratories in educational institutions.

Key Measures Announced

  • Teacher transfers will be systematized, and transfer trades will be halted.

  • State recognition will be given to Hafiz reciters and Islamic scholars.

  • English medium schools will be brought under the supervision of the Ministry of Education.

  • Education will be treated as the first investment of the state, with capacity and merit evaluated over certificates.

Vision for Education

State Minister for Education Bobby Hajjaj emphasized that politics will not interfere with education. He stated the ministry’s responsibility is to shape Bangladesh into a country that is efficient, fair-minded, technologically advanced, and value-driven. “We will translate this vision into reality through budgeting, classrooms, examinations, and employment,” he added.

The ministry’s announcements mark the start of a strict anti-corruption and modernization drive in Bangladesh’s education system under the new government led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
