DHAKA, Feb 22, (V7N) - Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad today said the government will not compromise with any irregularity in the management of the upcoming Hajj, warning of stern punitive actions against wrongdoing or negligence.
“The government will not spare anyone for the slightest deviation in this regard,” he told a view-exchange meeting with ministry officials at his office, adding that the same policy would apply to regular official activities.
Kaikobad stressed that merely posing as a “good officer” by following orders is not enough. “To attain Allah’s satisfaction and to earn one’s salary in a permissible way, we must properly fulfill responsibilities entrusted to us,” he said.
He emphasized efficiency and meaningful service delivery, noting that his relationship with officials would be built through performance. “If you do good work for the country and the ministry, I will be pleased. If you take one step forward in implementing government decisions, I will take three steps towards you,” he added.
The minister also encouraged officials to inform him if any directive violated rules and assured them of support in personal difficulties.
Earlier, Kaikobad was briefed on the ministry’s activities. Secretary M Kamal Uddin, Additional Secretaries M Ayatul Islam, M Imtiaz Hossain, and M Fazlur Rahman, along with other senior officials, attended the meeting.
