JHALAKATHI, Feb 22, (V7N) - Two leaning rain trees near the Mecca Medina Bakery on the Rajapur-Naikathi highway in Jhalakathi have become a serious safety hazard, causing frequent accidents involving large vehicles.

Locals reported that several trucks and boxcars have already been damaged after colliding with the branches, particularly at night and early morning when visibility is low. Drivers said the narrow road makes it difficult to avoid the trees when vehicles approach from the opposite direction.

Residents complained that despite repeated incidents, no permanent solution has been implemented. They urged immediate intervention from the road department and upazila administration to prune or remove the risky trees.

Truck and bus operators warned that without urgent action, the situation could lead to loss of life.
