Dhaka, Apr 28 (V7N) — Prime Minister Tarique Rahman held a courtesy meeting with Director General of Russia’s state nuclear energy agency Rosatom, Alexey Likhachev, at the Cabinet Division Secretariat in Dhaka on Tuesday morning.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Bangladesh and Russia, particularly in the field of nuclear energy, including ongoing projects and future collaboration.
According to officials, both sides discussed expanding technical cooperation and enhancing long-term engagement in the peaceful use of nuclear technology.
The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman, Science and Technology Minister and Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Fakir Mahabub Anam Swapan, along with advisor Rehan Asif Asad.
Alexander Grigorievich Khojin also participated in the discussions.
Officials said the meeting emphasized further strengthening Bangladesh-Russia relations and advancing cooperation in nuclear energy technology, which is expected to play a key role in the country’s future power generation strategy.
