Dhaka, May 24 (V7N) – Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan has said that effective public relations in the current era is not possible without the use of digital platforms, emphasizing the need for modern technological knowledge and clear understanding of information systems.
He made the remarks on Sunday morning (May 24) while addressing a training program for public relations officers from various ministries held at the Secretariat in Dhaka.
The minister said that public relations professionals must develop a strong understanding of the evolving information ecosystem as part of their professional responsibility. He added that officials should ensure whether the services intended for the public are being effectively delivered.
Highlighting the importance of capacity building, he noted that more than 300 officers are currently serving in the information cadre and stressed the need to develop a more skilled workforce.
At the event, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yaser Khan Chowdhury emphasized the role of artificial intelligence in modern governance, stating that AI can be effectively used to detect and verify misinformation and disinformation.
