Dalian, Jun 24 (V7N) – Prime Minister Tarique Rahman departed Dalian for Beijing by high-speed train on Wednesday afternoon after participating in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum's (WEF) "Summer Davos" conference in northeastern China.
The Prime Minister left Dalian at around 2:00 pm local time, accompanied by his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman.
Earlier in the day, Tarique Rahman attended the opening sessions of the 17th Annual Meeting of the New Champions, widely known as the Summer Davos Forum, held at the Dalian International Conference Center.
The high-profile event brought together political leaders, business executives, academics and media representatives from around the world to discuss global economic trends, innovation, investment and sustainable development.
Among the world leaders participating in the conference were Guinean Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah, Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, South Korean Prime Minister Kim Min-seok, Mongolian Prime Minister Nyam-Osoryn Uchral and Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić.
According to organizers, more than 1,700 representatives from political, business, academic and media sectors across more than 90 countries and regions attended this year's forum.
Officials said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's participation in the Summer Davos Forum is expected to create new opportunities for foreign investment, trade and employment for Bangladesh. The visit also provides a platform for exchanging experiences and best practices with global leaders and policymakers, helping strengthen the country's economic and institutional capabilities.
The Prime Minister arrived in Dalian on Monday (June 22) as part of his official visit to China.
During his stay in Beijing, Tarique Rahman is expected to hold a series of bilateral meetings with senior Chinese leaders and oversee the signing of several cooperation agreements aimed at enhancing Bangladesh-China relations in trade, investment, infrastructure and other strategic sectors.
