Beijing, Jun 25 (V7N)- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called on Chinese businesses and investors to invest in Bangladesh, announcing the establishment of a dedicated investment office in China to facilitate and support potential investors.

The announcement came during a seminar titled "Invest Bangladesh," organized by the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority at the Diaoyutai Hotel on Thursday (June 25).

Addressing Chinese business leaders and investors, the Prime Minister said his government is committed to creating a more efficient and investor-friendly environment. He pledged that investors would be able to begin their business operations within 15 days after completing the necessary procedures and overcoming bureaucratic hurdles.

During the seminar, BIDA Executive Chairman Ashiq Chowdhury delivered a special presentation highlighting investment opportunities across various sectors in Bangladesh. Around 125 Chinese business representatives attended the event.

In his address, Tarique Rahman stated that Bangladesh is "open for business, ready for the future, and interested in building a deeper industrial partnership with China." He encouraged Chinese companies to expand their value chains and manufacturing operations in Bangladesh.

The Prime Minister also revealed that the government is implementing a comprehensive 180-day action plan aimed at reforming procedures related to international capital and investment.

According to him, the initiative includes measures to reduce bureaucratic complexity, digitize government services, ensure policy consistency, and create a more predictable and business-friendly investment climate.

The government hopes these reforms will attract greater foreign direct investment and strengthen economic cooperation between Bangladesh and China in the coming years.
