Cumilla, Jul 10 (V7N)- Cultural Affairs Minister Advocate Nitai Roy Chowdhury has announced that the July Museum will be opened soon, saying the government is taking steps to preserve and restore the country's cultural heritage in a planned manner.
The minister made the remarks after visiting the Mainamati Museum and Shalban Vihara in Cumilla on Friday morning.
Speaking to reporters, he said a new committee has already been formed to oversee the initiative and that all future activities would be carried out systematically.
"The July Museum will be opened soon. A new committee has been formed, and everything will be implemented in an organized and planned way," the minister said.
Advocate Nitai Roy Chowdhury also alleged that the previous government had damaged the country's cultural heritage. He further claimed that the banking and insurance sectors had also been harmed through large-scale financial mismanagement and corruption during the previous administration.
He said the current government is working tirelessly to recover and preserve Bangladesh's lost cultural heritage and historical assets for future generations.
Local lawmakers, district administration officials, and leaders and activists of the ruling party were present during the minister's visit to the archaeological site and museum.
