Dhaka, Nov 03 (V7N)- Prime Minister Tareq Rahman is set to inaugurate the first-ever 'Bangladesh Solar Expo 2026' in the capital's Agargaon area on Wednesday (November 3). He has already arrived at the venue, the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center.

The inauguration ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10:30 am. The two-day exhibition will continue until November 4 and will remain open to the public.

Organised under the theme, "Utilize Every Inch of Your Rooftop and Increase Your Income Through Solar Energy," the expo aims to promote solar power generation and encourage wider use of renewable energy across the country.

Following the inauguration, the Prime Minister is scheduled to visit different stalls at the exhibition and observe the latest developments and initiatives in the solar energy sector.

The event has been jointly organised by the Power Division under the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources and the Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL).

Four seminars will also be held during the exhibition, focusing on different aspects of solar energy, its expansion across the country and increasing the contribution of solar power to Bangladesh's national energy mix.

The discussions will also highlight the potential of installing solar panels on rooftops and unused land, encouraging households, businesses and other stakeholders to invest in renewable energy.

The exhibition is expected to provide a platform for promoting solar technology, sharing knowledge and exploring opportunities to accelerate Bangladesh's transition towards sustainable energy.
