DHAKA, April 6, (V7N) - Bangladesh has achieved a historic milestone in remittance inflow, receiving US$3.29 billion in March 2025—marking the highest single-month remittance in the country's history, according to data from Bangladesh Bank.

The March figure reflects a 64.7 percent year-on-year increase compared to the $1.99 billion received during the same month last year. This surge highlights the growing contribution of expatriate workers to the national economy.

The latest record surpasses the previous high of $2.64 billion, set in December 2024. In February 2025, Bangladesh received $2.53 billion, which at the time had been the fourth-highest monthly remittance inflow.

From July 2024 to March 2025, the country received $21.78 billion in remittances, showing a significant increase from $17.08 billion during the same period in the previous fiscal year.

Economists attribute the surge to favorable exchange rates, policy support for formal remittance channels, and improved monitoring mechanisms by financial institutions.

The government has lauded the contributions of Bangladeshi expatriates and continues to emphasize incentives and support measures to sustain this momentum in the coming months.
