Dhaka, Mar 08 (V7N) – Engineer Md. Riazul Islam has been appointed as the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (RAJUK) for a two-year term, replacing Major General (Retd.) Siddiqur Rahman.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued an official notification on Saturday, confirming his appointment on a contractual basis. According to the notification, Riazul Islam must resign from any other professional, business, or institutional affiliations before assuming his new role.
Prior to this appointment, on October 26, Engineer Riazul Islam was appointed as a Member (Planning) of RAJUK for two years. Additionally, he serves as the President of the Engineers' Institution of Bangladesh (IEB).
His promotion to RAJUK Chairman comes four months after his initial contractual appointment, signifying the government’s confidence in his leadership for the urban development of Dhaka.
