Dhaka, Nov 15 (V7N) — An “International Khatme Nabuwat Mahasammelan” is underway at Suhrawardy Udyan, where participants are demanding that the state officially declare Qadianis as non-Muslims. The event has drawn devout Muslims from across the country, irrespective of political affiliation, under the banner of the Khatme Nabuwat Raksha Parishad.
The day-long conference began at 9 am on Saturday. Organizers confirmed that Islamic scholars and ulama from five countries, including Bangladesh, are taking part.
Speakers at the gathering called on Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus to take immediate steps to declare Qadianis non-Muslims. They also urged the government to “protect the finality of prophethood” by enacting necessary measures.
Top scholars from India, Pakistan and other Muslim-majority nations have joined the event. Among them are Mufti Fazlur Rahman, President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan; Syed Mahmud Madani, President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind (India); and Shaykh Abdur Rauf Makki, World Nayeb Ameer of the International Khatme Nabuwat Movement.
Bangladeshi scholars attending the conference include Maulana Shah Muhibullah Babunagari, Ameer of Hefazat-e-Islam; Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, Ameer of the Islamic Movement; and Mamunul Haque, Ameer of Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis. BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has also joined the event.
A large number of attendees continue to gather at Suhrawardy Udyan as the conference progresses.
