APR 16 (V7N) - A mild heat wave is currently affecting several districts in Bangladesh, including Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Jashore, Chuadanga, and Kushtia, as reported by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD). However, the heat is expected to subside soon, according to a weather bulletin issued today.
In addition to the heat, the BMD has forecasted rain and thunderstorms across various parts of the country over the next 24 hours, starting from 9 am today. Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, and Sylhet divisions are likely to experience rain or thundershowers with gusty winds and lightning. Isolated areas in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions may also see showers, along with possible hail.
The daytime temperature is expected to decrease by 1-2 degrees Celsius, and the night temperature will also drop slightly. On Wednesday, Rajshahi recorded the highest temperature of 39.2°C, while the minimum temperature today in Rajarhat (Rangpur division) is 20°C.
In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:20 pm today and rise at 5:36 am tomorrow.
