Following the attack, members of the organization and local youths took out a protest march demanding the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the attackers.
During the protest, an alleged drug addicts' hangout belonging to Nurul Haque was evicted based on complaints from locals. Tension prevails in the area over the incident. Javed Mia, president of the organization, said, "We have declared war on drugs. Three members of my organization were attacked because they took a stand against drug dealers and users." He also claimed they have not been receiving effective cooperation from Madhabpur police station for a long time.
Local APP Advocate Sajedur Rahman condemned the attacks, stating the incident is "very sad and condemnable." He demanded a proper investigation and exemplary punishment for those involved, while also calling on police to play a more active and strong role in eradicating drugs. He urged the administration to seriously consider local complaints about lack of police cooperation.
Madhabpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sohel Rana said, "We have not received any written complaint about the incident yet. If we receive a complaint, we will investigate and take legal action. The police's drive to eradicate drugs is ongoing and the police always cooperates in anti-drug activities."
