Gopalganj, Dec 13 (V7N) – Two cocktail were thrown in quick succession outside the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Gopalganj on Friday night, authorities confirmed. The explosions occurred around 9:00 p.m. on the road in front of the court.
 
According to a press release issued by the Gopalganj District Police at 11:00 p.m., the assailants threw the cocktail and fled immediately after. Both devices detonated with loud blasts, filling the area with smoke. No casualties or property damage were reported.
 
Additional Police Superintendent Md. Sarwar Hossain stated that the grenades did not contain shrapnel; the explosions were caused by the presence of gunpowder, producing a powerful sound but no injuries. Following the incident, law enforcement, in coordination with the military, increased patrols across the district.
 
Police have secured the scene, collected evidence, and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspects. Investigators are actively working to determine the motives behind the attack and to apprehend those responsible.
 
Authorities emphasized that security measures around judicial premises have been heightened to prevent any further incidents.
