Jhalokathi, Dec 13 (V7N) – Osman Hadi, the youngest son of a respected religious scholar from Nalchity in Jhalokathi, has recently emerged as a widely discussed figure across Bangladesh. His active involvement in the 2024 anti-government movement and his role as spokesperson for the Inqilab Mancha propelled him into national and international prominence within a short time.
Hadi comes from the well-known Munshi family of Harikhali village. His father, Abdul Hadi, served as the vice-principal of Nalchity Islamia Fazil Madrasa and was respected in the community for his scholarship and leadership. The family has three sons and three daughters, all connected to religious education and community service.
The eldest son, Maulana Abu Bakr Siddiq, serves as the imam and khatib of the Sharfuddin Ahmed Centu Jame Mosque in Guthia, Jhalokathi. The middle son, Omar Faruk, runs a business in Dhaka. Osman Hadi, the youngest, is now recognized nationwide for his political activism and public presence.
The family’s three daughters are also married into well-known religious and academic households. The elder daughter’s husband, Maulana Amir Hossain, is the superintendent of Fulhori Abdul Aziz Dakhil Madrasa and imam of Ashraf Ali Howlader Jame Mosque. The second daughter’s husband, Maulana Amirul Islam, is a Dhaka-based businessman. The youngest daughter teaches at Nalchity Islamia Fazil Madrasa, while her husband is also a scholar. The family’s permanent residence is located in the Khasmahal area of Nalchity town.
Hadi began his education at his father’s madrasa before moving to the historic Nesaratabad Kamil Madrasa in Jhalokathi. Known from childhood for his intelligence and speech skills, he later completed both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Dhaka. His academic background, combined with his oratory, helped him gain recognition among students and youth activists.
His rise to national attention came during the anti-government protests of 2024, when he became one of the public faces of the Inqilab Mancha. His speeches, media appearances, and organizational activities drew significant attention on social media and within political circles. Supporters praised his clarity and courage, while critics debated his rhetoric and influence. Regardless of differing views, his visibility in the national conversation grew rapidly.
Osman Hadi is married and lives with his wife and young son in Rampura, Dhaka. His elderly mother also resides with him in the capital. Despite a relatively modest background, his swift emergence as a political voice has made him one of the most talked-about young activists from Nalchity in recent times.
His name continues to surface in discussions among political observers, students, and the general public, illustrating how rapidly circumstances can elevate individuals into national significance.
