Pabna, Mar 26 (V7N) – Roknuzzaman Rajib, a Jubo Dal leader from Bhanguara, has come under heavy criticism after posting on Facebook, recognizing Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as the "Proclaimer of Independence." The post, shared on the evening of March 26, sparked widespread controversy among his party members and others.

Rajib, a former Joint Convener of Bhanguara Municipal Jubo Dal, works as a pickup driver. In his post, he stated, "On the night of March 25, 1971, in the early hours of March 26, Bangabandhu declared independence." The post led to intense backlash, with many criticizing him as “dangerously uninformed.” Despite the criticism, Rajib kept the post online for an extended period.

Rajib has previously been involved in controversies, including allegations of extortion and financial misconduct within his political activities. Though he works as a pickup driver, he is more known for his political engagements.

In response to the criticism, Rajib claimed the post was a mistake made unintentionally at a computer shop. He expressed embarrassment over the situation.

Rofikul Islam, president of Bhanguara Municipal BNP, stated, "I am not aware of this. If this is true, organizational action will be taken."

Himel Rana, convener of Pabna District Jubo Dal, also expressed surprise, stating, "I wasn't aware of this; I’m hearing it from you. I will look into the matter and take appropriate action."
