Kathalia, Jhalakathi May 08 (V7N) – Local BNP leaders and activists, along with members of allied organizations, formed a human chain in Kathalia to protest the inclusion of suspended Kathalia Upazila BNP General Secretary Nizam Mirbah in party activities.

The protest, organized by the Aorabunia Union BNP of Jhalokathi's Kathalia Upazila, took place on Wednesday, May 7th, at 4 pm.

Speakers at the human chain alleged that the district BNP had previously suspended Nizam Mirbah from all party positions based on specific allegations of extortion. They criticized certain leaders for disregarding this decision by including Mirbah in party activities and distributing counterfeit membership renewal forms.

The speakers emphasized that while the BNP is a disciplined party, some leaders have created chaos within the local Kathalia chapter. They claimed that since August 5th, rehabilitated pro-Awami League leaders have been used to marginalize loyal BNP members. They warned that the party is being damaged by the support given to opportunists.

They vowed to resist any attempt to reinstate Nizam Mirbah and demanded organizational action against those who are ignoring the suspension decision.

Among those who addressed the human chain were expatriate leader Golam Kabir, Aurabunia Union BNP leaders Ilias Kazi and Altaf Master, Ripon Sikder, Ismail, Amua Union Jubo Dal leader Sumon Khalifa, and Checharirampur Union BNP leader Atiq Hossain.
