Bagerhat, Nov 20 (V7N) – The Morrelganj upazila administration hosted a day-long entrepreneur fair and pitha festival on Wednesday as part of the nationwide Youth Festival 2025 celebrations.
The Youth Festival 2025 celebrations in Morrelganj, Bagerhat, featured a day-long entrepreneur fair and traditional pitha festival, formally inaugurated by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Habibullah, who attended as the chief guest. The event aimed to promote youth entrepreneurship, women’s empowerment, and local cultural traditions.
The programme, held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, was organized by the Upazila Administration and the Department of Women Affairs. In his welcome remarks, Upazila Women Affairs Officer Ramendra Nath Bishwas highlighted the importance of youth participation in economic and cultural activities and praised the women-led initiatives showcased at the festival.
Several government officials were present at the inauguration, including Assistant Commissioner (Land) Atees Sarkar, Livestock Officer Dr. Md. Abu Hanif, Family Planning Officer Dr. Tarek Hasan, BRDB Officer Dipika Rani Torafdar, and Information Assistant Sharmin Akhter. They visited the stalls and expressed appreciation for the local entrepreneurs and women’s groups participating in the fair.
A total of six stalls took part in the festival, including Nabanna, Kutumbari Pithaghar, and Chader Alo Destitute Women’s Association. The stalls featured a variety of traditional Bangladeshi cakes, local handicrafts, and small-scale entrepreneurial products, drawing enthusiastic participation from community members.
Organizers said the event was designed to encourage youth-led innovation as well as preserve the culinary heritage associated with winter pitha traditions. They added that such fairs strengthen community engagement and provide a platform for women entrepreneurs to showcase their work.
