Teknaf, Apr 25 (V7N): A new convening committee of the Teknaf Sambadik Samiti (TSS) has been formed to strengthen the organization and promote professional journalism in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar.
The three-member committee includes senior journalist Momtazul Islam Monu as convener, with Jashim Uddin Tipo and Sayedul Amin Chowdhury Prim serving as joint conveners.
The committee was formed following a meeting held on Friday (April 24) at 4:00 PM under the chairmanship of Momtazul Islam Monu, the founding president of the organization. The meeting saw the participation of at least 20 working journalists from Whykong, Hnila, and Baharchara unions.
Among those present were Mohammad Taher Nayeem, Humayun Rashid, Ziaur Rahman Zia, Shamsul Alam Sharek, Aman Ullah Kabir, Ramzan Uddin Patol, Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Helal Uddin, Saddam Hossain, Faridul Alam, Md. Sheikh Rasel, Saiful Islam Shaker, and Abdullah Al Samrat. The participants held detailed discussions on the organization’s past activities, current situation, and future direction.
Speakers emphasized the importance of unity, ethical standards, and professionalism in journalism, stating that the time is appropriate to make TSS active and strong once again. They expressed their commitment to building a well-organized, dynamic, and responsible platform for journalists.
Established in 2011, the Teknaf Sambadik Samiti once played a significant role as a platform for journalists in the area. The newly formed committee is expected to work toward restoring its effectiveness and relevance.
