Dhaka, Feb 19, (V7N) – Ganesh Chandra Ray Saha, President of the Dhaka University (DU) unit of Chhatra Dal, spoke out following a protest rally on campus. He condemned the attack on Chhatra Dal activists during a form distribution event at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), which occurred two days earlier. He emphasized that distributing forms was their constitutional right and accused a covert group of creating a mob to hinder student politics on campus.

The rally was held on Tuesday night at DU's TSC area, organized by Chhatra Dal in protest of the attack. The demonstration aimed to condemn the brutal assault on the party's leaders and activists by a group allegedly linked to the banned Shibir and Chhatra League. Ray Saha said these groups were trying to undermine the political presence of Chhatra Dal and its activities on campus.

He also addressed the issue of student politics, affirming that Chhatra Dal does not support any secretive or underhanded organizations. Ray Saha reiterated that the DU Central Students' Union (DUCSU) election was a core demand for Chhatra Dal and that they had already submitted proposals to reform the DUCSU constitution to the university authorities.

Chhatra Dal’s General Secretary Nahiduzzaman Shipon also spoke at the event, demanding justice for the violent attack on their activists at KUET. He insisted that the perpetrators must face legal consequences for their actions.
