Jhalakathi, July 11 (V7N) – In a shocking turn of events, no student from four secondary schools in Nalchhiti Upazila of Jhalakathi has passed the 2025 SSC exams. The results, released on Thursday (July 10) by the Barisal Education Board, revealed the disappointing outcome.
A total of 48 students from four schools – Delduar Secondary School (13 students), Bheronbariya CSU Girls' School (7 students), Matibangha Secondary School (17 students), and Jorkathi Secondary Girls' School (11 students) – had appeared for the exams. However, none of them managed to pass, resulting in a 0% pass rate across these institutions.
Reasons for the Disastrous Results
Education experts attribute the poor results to years of weak educational standards, infrastructure issues, teacher shortages, irregular classes, and student absenteeism. These systemic failures have led to widespread frustration and concern among parents and the local community.
Reaction from the Authorities
Professor Mohammad Yunus Ali Siddique, Chairman of the Barisal Education Board, expressed deep regret over the matter. He stated, “It is highly unfortunate that no student from Nalchhiti’s four schools has passed the SSC exam. We will issue show-cause notices to the respective schools and conduct an investigation to take necessary actions.”
He further assured that the board is committed to bringing discipline back into the education system and improving the quality of education.
Education Department's Perspective
A senior official from the district’s education department, who preferred to remain anonymous, revealed that these schools have been suffering from long-standing issues such as teacher shortages, irregular classes, and weak management. The lack of timely interventions has now resulted in this disastrous outcome.
Concerns Over Future Operations and Accreditation
The abysmal results have raised questions about the future of these institutions, with concerns being raised about their accreditation and ongoing operations. Educational experts and concerned citizens are urging for immediate and effective measures to address the issues and prevent such outcomes in the future.
