Naogaon, Jul 18 (V7N)- The formal academic activities of Naogaon University are set to begin today (Saturday) with a colorful inauguration ceremony and the reception of newly admitted students for the 2025–2026 academic session.
The inauguration program will be held at 10:00 am at the university's temporary campus located at Barunkandi intersection in Naogaon town. During the event, the university will officially launch its academic programs and welcome its first batch of students.
Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon will attend the ceremony as the chief guest.
As part of the inaugural program, the university will also open its new classrooms, a modern library, a computer laboratory, and a BRAC Bank Study Center. The official commencement of academic activities will be marked by a ceremonial cake-cutting.
The event will be chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohd. Hasanat Ali.
Special guests include State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, Education Secretary Md. Abdul Khalek, University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed, UGC Member Professor Dr. Abdullah-Al-Mamun, and Director General of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Professor Dr. Khan Moinuddin Al Mahmud Sohel.
Local Members of Parliament, district council administrators and other distinguished guests are also expected to address the gathering.
University authorities expressed hope that the official launch of academic activities would create new opportunities for higher education, particularly for students from Naogaon and the greater northern region of Bangladesh.
