Los Angeles, Jan 18, (V7N) - Bruce Willis made a rare public appearance recently to show his gratitude to first responders battling wildfires in Los Angeles. In a video shared by his wife, Emma Heming Willis, the actor, who is battling dementia, was seen shaking hands and thanking law enforcement officers for their service.
 
"Spotting a first responder, Bruce never missed a chance to show his gratitude with a heartfelt handshake and a 'thank you for your service.' Yesterday was no different" Emma Heming Willis wrote in the post. Bruce Willis, 69, has rarely been seen publicly since his family announced his dementia diagnosis in February 2023.
 
On Thanksgiving Day 2024, Willis' daughters, Tallulah and Scout Willis, shared touching photos on Instagram, showing their father with a nameplate reading "Best Dad Ever" as they sat together on a couch. The post was captioned "Grateful." His eldest daughter, Rumer Willis, was not pictured in the photos.
 
In March 2022, Willis retired from acting following an aphasia diagnosis. A year later, his family updated fans, revealing he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD), a brain disorder caused by the degeneration of the brain's frontal lobe.
 
A message from his wife, ex-wife Demi Moore, and daughter Rumer thanked fans for their support, stating, "Our family wanted to start by expressing our deepest gratitude for the incredible outpouring of love, support, and wonderful stories we have all received since sharing Bruce’s original diagnosis."
