Mumbai, June 10, 2024 - Actress Noor Malabika Das, known for her roles in various web series, was found dead in her Mumbai apartment on Thursday. The tragic discovery was made after neighbors reported a foul odor emanating from her flat, according to Indian media outlet NDTV.

Malabika , a resident of Lokhandwala, Mumbai, originally hailed from Assam. She had co-starred with popular actress Kajol in the 2023 web series "The Trial." The 37-year-old actress was found in a decomposed state by the police, who had to break down her door to gain entry.

The police are investigating the possibility of suicide, although no suicide note was discovered at the scene. Samples, including medicines and Malabika ’s mobile phone, were collected for further analysis. An Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been filed, and an autopsy has been conducted to determine the cause of death.

Malabika 's elderly parents, who had recently visited her and then returned to Assam, are grieving their loss. Actor Aloknath Pathak, a friend of Malabika , performed her cremation with the assistance of an NGO.

In response to the incident, the All Indian Cine Workers Association has urged Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis to conduct a thorough investigation into the alleged suicide. They emphasized the need for the government to address the recurring tragedies in the Indian film industry and investigate the underlying causes.
