Dhaka, Mar 30 (V7N) – Asian Development Bank (ADB) Country Director in Bangladesh Hoe Yun Jeong held a meeting with Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Abdul Awal Mintoo at his office in the Bangladesh Secretariat today.
According to a ministry press release, the meeting focused on strengthening climate finance mechanisms and expanding partnership initiatives.
Both sides held detailed discussions on formulating the framework of the Bangladesh Climate Development Partnership (BCDP) and identifying effective strategies to mobilize climate finance through the platform.
The minister emphasized that Bangladesh will implement both adaptation and mitigation projects to মোকাবিলা the adverse impacts of climate change, utilizing domestic and international funding sources.
He expressed optimism that the BCDP would play a vital role in advancing these efforts and called for full cooperation from ADB.
ADB Country Director Hoe Yun Jeong said the BCDP aims to:
Strengthen partnerships for climate finance
Accelerate policy reforms
Build capacity for innovative climate projects
Promote knowledge sharing
The meeting was also attended by Mohammed Rayhan Kaosar, Secretary to the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, along with other senior officials.
