The pitha festival of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy has started from the last day of January. Even on the third day of the festival, visitors are flocking to the stalls to eat pita with the rich taste of rural Bengal.

But with the passage of time people's lifestyle is changing, the taste of making pita at home is getting lost in the busy life of the city. Therefore, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy is organizing this nationwide with the aim of bringing out regionally specialized and endangered pitha industry.

 Under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy has taken the initiative to organize the National Pitha Festival-2024 in 64 districts of the country to further expand Pitha, one of the accessories of culture, at the national level.

There are 50 stalls set up with artisans who make pithas in the family tradition. So, this year's pitha festival will have different types of original pitha flavors from the hilly areas to the city.

Bahari pitha includes bibikhana, jamai adar, dim sundari, khatapuri, kheer patisapata, pulipitha, khejur gurer pitha, sangrai moong, Pahari kola patar pitha, kalo binni chaler payes, chaler choto ruti with full vegetables, chita pitha, etc.

 

While relishing these Pitha flavors, visitors can also watch mesmerizing cultural performances.

This pitha festival will continue from 3 pm to 8 pm in the premises of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy till February 10.

Friday (February 2) was the third day of the pitha festival which started from January 31. The 'Book Fair' held during the month of languages has increased the flavor of this festival of pitha in this year's organization of the bustling national pitha festival 1430.
