Jhalokathi, Feb 16, (V7N) – Professor Mujibur Rahman, the central vice-amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, stated that over the past 54 years, no government in the country has been able to establish peace. He said, “We were able to drive out the tyrants through movements, but we have not been able to remove oppression. A certain group is still oppressing the people.” He emphasized the need for an Islamic state to eliminate oppression.
 
Speaking as the chief guest at a workers' conference of Jhalokathi district Jamaat-e-Islami on Saturday (February 15) at Eidgah Maidan, he called on people to support Islamic parties in the upcoming elections to implement Islamic laws in the country.
 
The conference, presided over by district Jamaat Amir Advocate Hafizur Rahman, was attended by special guests, including Jamaat's central assistant secretary general Mu'azzam Hossain Helal and central working council member Zahir Uddin Mohammad Babar.
 
In the event, other leaders, including central Jamaat leader Fakruddin Khan Razi, Mohammad Abdul Jabbar, Laskar Mohammad Taslim, and Sheikh Neyamul Karim, also addressed the gathering.
 
Thousands of leaders and workers from district, upazila, and union levels participated spontaneously in this conference, which was held publicly after 22 years.
