Dhaka, Aug 22 (V7N): The High Court has revoked the prohibition on the airing and publication of statements by Tarique Rahman, the BNP’s acting chairman, across all media and online platforms.

The ruling was made by the bench of Judge Md Khasruzzaman and Justice Md Khairul Alam on Thursday.

Additionally, the court has overturned its previous order, which had mandated the government to enforce a ban on the broadcast and distribution of Tarique Rahman’s speeches.

With this new ruling, lawyers have noted that there are now no legal barriers to the media covering Tarique Rahman's statements.

This restriction had been in place since 2015, banning the broadcast, publication, and dissemination of Tarique Rahman's speeches and statements.
