Rangamati June 20,(V7N)- The picturesque hill district of Rangamati, known for its changing landscapes of hills, lakes, and clouds, has been teeming with tourists. Seeking a respite from the hustle and bustle of city life, travelers from various parts of the country have flocked to this natural wonderland to experience its enchanting beauty.
 
Among the top attractions for tourists are the scenic Kaptai Lake, the captivating hanging bridge nestled between two hills in the tourism complex area, the Shubolong Waterfall, Police Polwel Park, DC Bungalow, Bargee Lake Valley, Rajban Bihar, Kaptai Nisarg Pod House, the Sajek in Baghaichhari, and the mesmerizing beauty of the Assam-Bosti-Kaptai road.
 
In recent days, Rangamati has welcomed at least 50,000 tourists. Hotels, motels, and government rest houses are packed with visitors. The famous hanging bridge, Polwel Park, and DC Bungalow have seen a significant increase in tourist presence compared to usual days. The influx of tourists has invigorated Rangamati’s economy, contributing millions of takas in revenue daily.
 
Tourists have expressed that the allure of nature in Rangamati never ceases to amaze them, prompting them to return whenever they can. Visitors from various regions have shared that they never realized the beauty of nature until visiting Rangamati, and the experience has been rejuvenating. They also believe that with further development, this hill town could attract even more tourists, potentially reducing the number of people traveling abroad for vacations.
 
Alok Bikash Chakma, manager of Rangamati Tourism Corporation, confirmed the increase in tourists during the holidays. He remarked that the influx of tourists in recent days has been promising, with all tourism motels fully booked, adding that the surge in visitors is very encouraging.
 
For the safety of the tourists, a three-tier security system has been implemented, according to Mahiul Islam, Superintendent of Police (SP) in charge of the Tourist Police in Rangamati Region. He mentioned that there are regular patrol duties by uniformed police in city-centric tourist spots, standing duties at Kaptai Lake boat docks, and motorcycle patrols between spots.
 
AKM Aftab Hossain Pramanik, Chairman of Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, stated plans for further development of Rangamati's tourism sector. During his recent visit, he held meetings with various stakeholders involved in the local tourism industry. He emphasized that the Tourism Corporation, founded by the Father of the Nation, should not be neglected. Plans include modernizing the hanging bridge, constructing swimming pools, and building public toilets to revamp the region’s tourism sector.
