Dhaka, Feb 28 (V7N) — The holy month of Ramadan is traditionally divided into three phases, each carrying a distinct spiritual significance. The first ten days are regarded as the period of mercy, the second ten days as forgiveness, and the final ten days as salvation from the Fire.

Today marks the tenth day of Ramadan — the concluding day of the phase of mercy, although the day itself has not yet ended. For believers, this period is seen as a special opportunity to seek the boundless compassion of Allah through increased devotion.

Acts of Worship Encouraged

Religious scholars note that until Iftar, Muslims can engage in various voluntary acts of worship alongside fasting. Recitation of the Holy Qur’an, remembrance of Allah (dhikr), supplication, and charity are considered particularly virtuous during this time. These acts are believed to help believers draw closer to Allah and gain spiritual purification.

Virtue of Fasting

According to a narration by Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA), the Prophet Prophet Muhammad said that the reward of every good deed is multiplied, while the reward of fasting is uniquely granted by Allah Himself because it is performed solely for His sake (Musnad Ahmad, Hadith: 9714).

Spiritual Reflection

As the first phase of Ramadan comes to a close, worshippers are encouraged to intensify their prayers and good deeds in the remaining hours, hoping to attain divine mercy and prepare spiritually for the upcoming days of forgiveness.
